Italian restaurants, sub shops, calzone counters and Italian delis sit next to the pizzerias on this site because most of them bake pizza too, often from the same dough. Full-service Italian restaurants take reservations for dinner, add a tip line for table service (15-20% is customary) and usually run a cheaper lunch menu on weekdays. Sub and sandwich shops are counter-order and quick, with sizes by the inch or in half and whole lengths. Calzones and strombolis are priced like a medium pizza and are large enough to share. Italian delis and bakeries sell by weight and by the piece, and many close mid-afternoon.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 7 am–3 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Tartine Venice at (424) 443-7727; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is tartinebakery.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 4.1 out of 5 from 89 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Santa Monica is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Santa Monica follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I've only ever ordered this food through Uber eats but damn is it good! I'm supposed to be saving money but instead I find myself coughing up the cash just to get a taste. Sometimes quality perception is something that can be marketed to us through visuals, but as I have never been to their location in person there is no trickery of ambiance or plating just the very obvious quality that I taste through the food itself. It's delicious and I might go broke but that's okay. I posted this review because I realized that there were only 82 reviews which is insane, unless they just recently opened, because this stuff is GOOD! I usually order their breakfast egg toast thing (and I'm about to order it again), I've also tried a few pastries as well as a turkey sandwich. Lemmie tell you, they bussin!

$25 +tip for a small piece of quiche and a coffee seems excessive, even for LA. Leaving a review after my third visit. Coupled with unfriendly staff, loud music at 8am and no WiFi, makes me never want to return. There are plenty of other independent owned French cafes in this area that I would rather support. The food is good but nothing special and lacks seasoning. Their pastries are good but very expensive.

Let me say the turkey club with the fried chicken skin is one of the best sandwiches ever. With that, the damn carrot was better than the sandwich. I felt like a baby trying a new food for the first time like it was so freaking good I already know I’m returning for that. Definitely did your big one

First time actually here, I usually just buy their bread at grocery stores. I'm so glad I came today! It's conveniently located with free parking and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a perfect spot to get work done (though I didn’t see any outlets) or catch up with friends. The salmon tartine was really good and so was their matcha with honey. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, which really made it a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend going!

Great new breakfast spot. Lattes were excellent. Avocado Tartine (toast) and Croque madam were exceptional. Egg was just right. Nice to have sweet and savory scones. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Just tried an outstanding soft scramble. Delicious!!
